How the limit works

The limit is in tokens; a regular request costs 1 token

Every billable API request spends tokens from your package. Most requests cost 1 token; only whole-file downloads cost more. You can see what is left in your account, under Usage.

Regular request
1 tokenSearch, vehicle pages, inspection reports, price history, and the rest of the API.
Catalogs
0 tokensMake and model directories do not spend tokens.
Inventory download
100 tokensOne CSV file with the whole Encar inventory or its changes.
Inspection download
300 tokensA CSV file with inspection reports or its changes.
Unchanged file
1 tokenDownloading again with an ETag when the file is the same (a 304 response).

If a request fails with a server error (5xx), its tokens are given back.
